Match preview Vs AltrinchamDate: 29-09-18Venue: AggboroughKick off: 15:00hrs |
Aggborough welcomes back Altrincham after a one season break following their relegation from the National North in 2017. Sadly we were one of the clubs to help them on the way with a 4-1 win over them in the April of that year.
To bounce back at the first time of asking isn’t easy and all credit to them for that. At the present time they’ve made a solid, if unspectacular, start to the season and sit in mid-table with three away wins under their belts. Amazingly they have yet to record a league win at home and have only accrued two points from five games at Moss Lane. So with their away form record we’ll need to be ready for them tomorrow.
We both won 5-0 in our FA Cup games last Saturday. Our victory over Atherstone being matched by theirs at home to Whitley Bay FC with their final two goals coming from substitute Tom Peers twenty minutes from the end of the game. They’ll be without Shaun Densmore (long term injury) and Ben Harrison (knee) for the game but expect Peers to now start.
We should have no injuries to speak of with Joel Taylors eye infection and Billy Daniels ankle knock cleared up by now. Dan Bradley will be hoping to get a start after walking off with the matchball but who will it be in place of? It’s doubtful that Ashley Chambers or Ed Williams will be dropped so it looks likely to possibly be Joe Ironside. Neil MacFarlane has a tough decision to make.
Three points tomorrow will keep us in touch with the leaders Chorley FC and with them facing an improving Chester FC we might even close the gap to just six points. We do have a good history at home results wise against Alty with our last league defeat coming way, way back in May 1994 when we were both in the Vauxhall Conference. We have suffered two cup defeats though having lost out in the FA Trophy in 1995 and 2015.
Here’s to three points for the Harriers then.
