Justin Richards

Justin Richards signed for the Harriers after being released from Peterborough at the end of the 06-07 season.

Born locally in West Bromwich, he signed for his home town club as a youth but failed to make it at the Hawthorns and joined Bristol Rovers for a fee of £75,000.

He made his name at Woking after ending a season there as the Leagues highest scorer and that attracted the attention of the Posh. His one season there was not very productive though and on his release he was snapped up by the then Harriers manager, Mark Yates.

Mid way through the season and it wasn’t working out for him and he left the club during January to join Oxford Utd on loan until the end of the season. The following season Justin finally showed us how good he could be and his partnership with Matt Barnes-Homer reaped dividends with both players scoring 21 goals each to take us to sixth place in the League by the end of the season.

It all meant nothing to our blinkered board though when he was told a few weeks later that his services were no longer needed as the squad was broken up.

He joined League One side Cheltenham Town in June 2009 on a one year contract and later went on to play for Port Vale, Burton Albion and Tamworth before joining Stourbridge.
