The Harriers will be up against another local rival tomorrow evening when Hereford FC roll up at Aggborough. On Saturday we went the long way round to AFC Telford Utd after finding that the Bridgnorth to Sutton Maddock road was closed meaning a U turn to go via Much Wenlock. At least it was prettier once you left Wenlock it was more direct. It was also well worthwhile after we came back home – the long way round again – with another three points.

The only goal of the game was scored just before halftime thanks to a Nathan Cameron tap-in and in the second half we peppered the Telford goal relentlessly only to find their keeper, Ross Griffiths, in top form to keep us from extending our lead.
We now have to face the last team to beat us in the league with Hereford looking for the double over us. It was on a cold and foggy evening just under a month ago that we lost at that excuse for a football ground when a goal in each half from, the now departed for Brackley Town, Jaanai Gordon and the irritating Tom Owen-Evans took three important points off us. It mustn’t be allowed to happen this time.
With the Bulls at the top of the current form table – how did that happen? – they’re going to be a tough nut to crack and they’ll have to do it without Harry Pinchard and Luke Haines. Pinchard is recovering from groin injury that has seen him out for a number of weeks while Haines is recovering from a calf injury but is now back in training.
With Gordon gone there was a question mark over where their goals were going to come from, not that they have scored many and neither did he. Midfielder Maziar Kouhyar was the answer at home to Guiseley AFC at the weekend when he scored both their winning goals. Miles Storey is the other main goalscorer but he seems to spend more time on the bench than on the field.
Following the Telford game we have no real new injuries to report although Keziah Martin didn’t make the bench at the Bucks Head after his cameo extra time appearance against West Ham Utd. Maybe he wasn’t quite fit for that game and was rested on Saturday. Ethan Freemantle and Cliff Moyo are also not quite ready for starting eleven duties just yet either.
With the former Harriers duo, Josh Gowling and Steve Burr, in charge there then they’ll be looking forward to returning to their old stomping ground once more and getting one over us. That aint going to happen though!
