30-11-20 – Preview – Kidderminster Harriers Vs Kettering Town

Kettering Town will arrive at Aggborough tomorrow evening after a break of eight years. They were supposed to come here back in April but that game was one of the many cancelled due to the pandemic.

At least we’re now in better condition than last season when we were struggling to put decent results together and the game could have gone either way. You could say that could be the same scenario tomorrow because although Kettering are struggling at the wrong end of the table they did pick up a useful point at Hereford FC on Saturday when the battled to draw 3-3. They did have the former Harriers midfielder, Michael McGrath, sent off towards the end of the game following a second yellow.

On Friday they bought in the professional donkey Kyle Perry to help score the goals to lift them higher up the table and also defender Rhys Sharpe from Stratford Town to do likewise. Earlier in the month the manager, Paul Cox, also drafted in the former Northampton Town defender Jay Williams and forwards Callum Powell and Ashanti Pryce.

We puffed our way to a narrow 1-0 win at home to Curzon Ashton on Saturday just as we seemed to have done in other recent games too. Yes it’s good being second in the table with only one defeat all season but by gum don’t they make it uncomfortable for the fans watching infront of their TV’s. Any chance of a little smidgen of attacking prowess in addition to Sammy Austin please Russ?

Alex Penny missed the game due to food poisoning and it would be a surprise if he returned so soon so Cliff Moyo should continue deputising at the back. We had/have no other injuries so should be good to go.

As always the club will be streaming the game and with the possibility of attended games on the horizon this could be one of the last for the time being. Let’s just hope that the gremlins have been sorted before 7:45 pm please
