Mike Williams was your old fashioned type of one team player having played for Wrexham for all the five years of his career until he was released by the club at the end of the 2009-10 season. In addition to his 128 games with Wrexham he had also appeared for his country eight times as an under 19, fifteen times at under 21 level and 1 game in the semi professional Welsh team. Mike left the Harriers after three seasons with us and joined Altrincham soon after but his career there was blighted by injury and he temporarily hung up his boots on medical advice when it was revealed that he had been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips. He returned to playing six months later to play in Wales with his brother Marc. |
