24-12-19 – Preview – Kidderminster Harriers Vs Hereford FC

Christmas is on us and that can only mean one thing, apart from kisses under the mistletoe, and that’s the chance to put one, or hopefully two, over our neighbours Hereford FC. It all kicks off on Boxing Day at Aggborough and sadly it’s going to be two games between two strugglers in this league.

With Hereford in thirteenth and the Harriers in fourteenth there are only two points between us so a win for the Reds will see us leapfrog the Bulls into the possible heady heights of twelfth.

The one problem we have is an extensive injury list. Ed Williams, Richard Peniket, Declan Weeks, Harry Higginson and now Ashley Chambers could all miss out or either play their part. Hopefully at least a couple will be fit and ready to play.

Hereford, on the other hand, seem to have just the one player definitely out and that’s former Harrier Martin Riley with a dislocated shoulder.

Their other missing players seem to be self inflicted with seemingly half the side out on loan somewhere. The ‘much loved’ Tom Owen-Evans has for reasons known only to their manager Russell Slade been farmed out to Chippenham Town for a while and Rowan Liburd has been exiled to far flung Dartford FC.

They’re a bit short on firepower upfront with another former Harriers, the ‘also much loved’ Reece Styche leading the line by himself while the veteran Mike Symons tries to keep up. Other Harriers there, of which there are a few, are Brandon Hall, Jared Hodgkiss and Josh Gowling. All three of which we would have back in a flash. No, not that Flash!

As with all games against Hereford it will no doubt be an interesting affair so shake off that turkey and mince pies and get yourself along to Aggy to shout the boys on for a long overdue home win.
