27-11-20 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Curzon Ashton

Hoping for another start. And another goal

Games against Curzon Ashton are always entertaining and this one at Aggborough tomorrow promises to be no different with Curzon doing ok in the league so far and also, like us, have a penchant for playing football the proper way.

Sitting in tenth place in the table their results have been slightly inconsistent though with defeats against Blyth Spartans, Gateshead and Leamington tempered with victories against Kettering Town and AFC Fylde this month alone. Their most recent game, at home to Leamington a week ago, saw them lose out 2-0 in a game they were expected to win.

Tomorrow we have to play on that inconsistency and take the game to them right from the first whistle. Just as we did on Tuesday evening against Alfreton Town when we started off on the front foot and put Alfreton under pressure to result in a goal for Cliff Moyo just under thirty minutes into the game. That was Cliffs first start of the season so to also get a first goal must have been a good feeling for him after finding himself out of favour recently.

Our young loanee from Manchester Utd, Max Taylor, was dropped to make way for him and his return gave us a far stronger presence defensively so it may signal more games for Moyo. We might also see a first start for Jim Kellermann now that his period of suspension has come to an end. He should replace Luke Maxwell who hasn’t looked comfortable in the old Declan Weeks role and neither has Alex Prosser. Kellermann should be a better fit for that job.

With Kellermanns return we really should have a fully fit squad now.

Curzon have had a few injuries of late with one of them being the former Harriers loanee Dominic Knowles. He joined them at the start of the season following his release from Boston Utd after a long time with Harrogate Town, helping them to promotion to the Football League. He played against Leamington last week so should be available to play against us.
