24-01-25. Oxford City Vs Kidderminster Harriers. Match preview

Here we go again! Another defeat out of the blue in a game that we were hoping would put a bigger gap between first and second place in the table and we only go and mess up yet again. Tuesday evening we were at home to Darlington FC and that was lost 1-0 with their goal coming as a breakaway after they had more or less failed to test Christian Dibble for the previous seventy odd minutes.

In previous weeks we’ve done the same trick at home with Rushall Olympic and, to a certain extent, away at Kings Lynn Town. I’m now dreading the visits of Needham Market and Peterborough Sports towards the end of March. 

Tomorrow we come up against a club that have been improving recently and scoring goals into the bargain. They’ve risen up from near the bottom of the table to seventeenth place in recent weeks but did drop down a place following the scoreless draw at Chorley FC in midweek. Their goals have mainly been coming from Corie Andrews with six of those coming over the Christmas period and into January.

A former Harrier plays for them too. Cole Kpekawa came to us on loan from Bromley FC last season but on his release from them he returned to Oxford after being on loan with them earlier last season. 

We have neither any new injuries or any new strikers so it looks like we’ll be going into this game relying on the struggling Amari Morgan-Smith once more. In recent outings he’s looked very tired and could do with a longer rest than the one he had when we played Slough Town in the FA Trophy.

We just have to hope that we’re firing on all fronts tomorrow and can quickly get back into the saddle following that Darlington defeat.
