19-01-18 - Preview - Curzon Ashton Vs Harriers

I’m going to be brief today due to ‘the’ flu bug running rife through Online Towers this week as it has been through headquarters at Aggborough too.

The team will be looking to put Tuesday nights exit from the FA Trophy at Stockport behind them with a long overdue away win at struggling Curzon Ashton. The defeat on Tuesday was our first on the road since we lost at AFC Fylde in the FA Cup in November. The problem is we may not have lost any since then, not including Stockport, but we haven’t won any either. All draws.

That has got to change soon and hopefully it’ll be tomorrow.

We had a few missing through the bug and other reasons on Tuesday with James McQuilkin, Elton N’Gwatala, Joel Taylor and Andre Wright all out while Lee Vaughan and Joe Ironside both went to the bench for possibly the same reason. We obviously run a small squad and it’s at times like this that you wonder why we don’t recall some of those out on loan or bring some new faces in. A striker definitely first*.

Curzon are going through a bad run at the moment and have only won one game in the last ten. That came at basket case North Ferriby before Christmas and the Nash have only drawn in four other games. Their last game was at home to Chorley FC and that ended as a 1-0 home defeat.

Hopefully we’ll have a few important players back for us for the, yet another, trip up to Manchester and hopefully we’ll get all three points too.

* Obviously someone reads this because we have bought in a striker, George Waring, on loan from Tranmere Rovers.
