08-11-24. Kidderminster Harriers Vs Farsley Celtic. Match preview

Preview:Phil Lench

Quickly back into action we go with a home game against Farsley Celtic tomorrow and, here I go again, we desperately need to get that home win. It’s been too long!

On Wednesday evening we saw off the tough challenge of Curzon Ashton with a single goal from Ashley Hemmings and at times we lived dangerously and could have given two precious points away if they had drawn level. If they had scored it didn’t look likely that we would have re-taken the lead due to the lack of goal scoring chances that we created. We have to be more focussed on that part of our game because it’s still sorely lacking.

Ben Beresford returned from injury late on in the game although he didn’t get much time to do anything. Hopefully he’ll get an earlier start tomorrow or maybe? Phil Brown might play him from the start alongside Amari Morgan-Smith in a two up front formation. We certainly aren’t getting all that many goals playing AMS as a lone striker.

On the injury front we’ll still be without Alex Penny and Luke Summerfield long term while Paul Downings term is surely getting shorter by the day and we might see him back soon but I think not tomorrow. Kobe Hall has returned from his loan spell at Quorn FC and we might get to see him on the bench.

As for Farsley well they looked to be a basket case up until Tuesday evening. No pitch of their own to play on due to a 4G version being installed but that seems to have gone wrong with boardroom fighting putting paid to it before Christmas. After a few home games at other clubs they’ve now settled on Buxton FC’s ground until theirs is finished but that might be a while.

All told though they’re not doing too badly in fifteenth place but that was helped by a remarkable 2-0 win at Kings Lynn on Tuesday. A night when almost all of the top of the table clubs lost with Scunthorpe Utd, Hereford FC (yes!!!), Chorley FC and Alfreton Town all coming a cropper too. Only Buxton won.

With that win at Lynn Farsley might think they can do the same to us so we have to make sure they don’t with a 0-0 draw.

STOP PRESS: Taylor Foran joins us on loan
