The Harriers and Redditch friendly this evening drew to a goalless conclusion this evening with very few clear cut chances of scoring at the Trico Stadium.

Another combination of first team and Academy players was bolstered by a trialist who looked familiar but no one seemed to be able to make a positive confirmation of it being either Mo Faal from West Brom or Reise Allassani formerly of Coventry City but just released from Dulwich Hamlet or even  the former Hemel Hempstead Town player Dara Dada-Anité. Still not sure though.

Whoever he was he was the best player on the pitch covering every inch, flicking balls on and trying to get on the end of everything that came his way. It was Ashley Hemmings who had our best chances to score in the first half though with one close range header that bought out a stunning back flip save from the Redditch keeper Adam Harrison and a shot on the angle that flew beyond the far post.

1st half team: Palmer, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Penny, Knight-Percival, Preston, Lissimore, Trialist A, Leesley, Morgan-Smith, Hall, Hemmings.

The start of the second half was a bit confusing due to Christian Dibble actually being named as the first half keeper but we had Tom Palmer instead while for the second half the academy keeper, Josh Bishop, played. Reiss McNally was also named but instead Nathaniel Knight-Percival stayed on for the first ten minutes then made way for another academy kid, Sam Downs.

Nothing much happened this half without the craft of the trialist to encourage us. Gerry McDonagh should have done better with a chance after running past their defenders to rob the keeper of the ball then with an open goal at his mercy blasted it over the bar.

The remainder of the game was scrappy with loads of long ball that achieved very little.

2nd half team: Bishop, Richards, Maginness, Knight-Percival (Downs), Pearce, Byrne, Phillips, McDonagh, Brown, Hewett, Lambert.
