The Harriers entered the realms of a soap opera today when they signed Kane Richards and Ed Wagner in time for the final friendly of pre-season at Solihull Moors tomorrow. They have both been on an extended trial with us and today signed contracts for the coming season.

Kane Richards has come to us following his release from Dover Athletic at the end of last season and is a striker who had formerly played for Chester FC and Gainsborough Trinity. At the end of last season he spent a short time on loan at AFC Telford Utd where he made only two appearances without scoring.

In his one season with Dover he only played fourteen times while scoring once. It was with Chester that he had his best spell hitting the net twelve times in sixty nine outings.

Little is known of Ed Wagner apart from his American origins and two games at Alfreton Town last season where he was on the bench against us on March 27th but didn’t come on. Another new signing, James Baxendale, played in that game.

Richard Wagner wrote operas including Lohengrin, The Rhinegold and Tristan & Isolde. He played for Germany and Adolf Hitler liked him.
