17-07-18 – Friendly – Both Harriers teams lose this evening

It wasn’t a good evening for the Harriers this evening but it was the Academy side that you had to feel sorry for. Thrown in at the deep end they suffered a mauling at Alvechurch in the Worcester Senior Cup with a result that saw then two down in the first five minutes and the game ending 6-0 to the hosts.

Questions should be asked why there was no one on the field with a bit of experience to help them through it all.

The big boys were in action at home to Burton Albion in a re-run of the same friendly from last season. An early goal from Ed Williams that nestled in the bottom corner saw the Reds open the scoring. That lasted until half time when the visitors equalised following the break with a goal from Joe Sbarra.

That’s the way it stayed until almost until the end when Luke McCormick sealed the game for the League 1 side.
