Finally puts pen to paper

At one time if you mentioned the name Arthur at the Harriers it could only mean one thing: Arthur Gnahoua. We probably just used that quick and easy way because most people couldn’t pronounce his surname. Certainly not at AFC Fylde. Now to muddy the waters we have another Arthur but this time with a more easier to say christian name: Koby.

Koby Arthur, for that is he, has been around the club for a while now having been training with us since January following his release from Macclesfield Town back in July last year.

He was supposed to take part in the Worcester Senior Cup tie against Bewdley Town etc but flooding put paid to that so he actually made his ‘debut’ for us at Alvechurch in the following round but couldn’t save us from making the expected exit anyway.

Ghana born Koby started his career off with Birmingham City before being spent out on loans to Lincoln City and Cheltenham Town. On his return to St Andrews he made a handful of appearances but failed to fulfil the previously seen potential and was released to join the Macc.

He’ll be with us for the eventual coming season whenever that may be.

Leaving the club, somewhat expectedly, yesterday was Ashley Chambers who decided not to renew his contract with us following two years of banging the goals in. Twenty six in seventy four games to be exact.

It was well known that he was possibly one of the higher paid players with the club and with the uncertainty surrounding football at the moment it was agreed that he would seek out a new club to play for. Finding a club that could improve on his salary here could prove to be difficult and one wonders why he left if that was the case.

Still, we wish him well and no doubt our paths will cross again one day.
