23-11-20 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Alfreton Town

The Harriers face a short run of three home games in a row starting against Alfreton Town tomorrow evening. We host Curzon Ashton next Saturday with Kettering then travelling across to us a week tomorrow. The real good news though is that after the Kettering game we could be seeing fans back in Aggborough for the first time since March after the government announced the possibility of a return to normal this afternoon.

That will all depend on which tier we find ourselves in and what tiers our away game opponents are in. At the moment Kidderminster is in Tier 1 but parts of the nearby Black Country are in Tier 2 and expected to rise to Tier 3 if numbers don’t start to decrease. Hopefully there’ll be further news in the coming days.

On Saturday we came away from Farsley Celtic with a share of the points after goals from Sammy Austin and Omari Sterling-James took us from a goal down and into the lead. Farsley drew level just minutes after the break and the game then became the slanging match version of football.

We had no injuries following the game (afaik) and will only be without Jim Kellermann who will be absent serving the final game of his three match suspension.

Alfreton are having a middling season and find themselves ensconced in mid-table after nine games while we sit at third after seven games. They lost 2-0 at home to Darlington on Saturday and that came soon after a 4-3 thriller at Leamington that went the home sides way after Alfreton had surged into a 3-0 lead within the first twenty minutes only to give it all away after Leamington staged an epic comeback.

As always there’s no injuries new sat this level and Alfreton go one further by listing last seasons squad on their team profile page. Grief, Amari Morgan-Smith is still playing for them! They have mentioned Dan Bradley though and amazingly he’s still with them. Just a shame we can’t be at the game to give him a proper Aggborough greeting.

Our home record against Town hasn’t been too good in recent seasons with then having beaten us twice and both by scoring the single goal. Hopefully that will be put right this time round.

We have a stream available of course that costs £7.99 for non season ticket holders. That’s right here: https://page.inplayer.com/KidderminsterHarriersFC/
