12-10-18 - Preview - Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC Vs Kidderminster Harriers

Fraser Horsfall
Will he be fit to play?

The Harriers have a lot of making up to do to their fans following that shocking defeat at Stourbridge in the FA Cup last week. A lot of the confidence in the team evaporated quickly at the final whistle on Saturday after 600 travelling fans saw us throw away a two goal lead to allow the Glassboys to score three times and set themselves up with a game at Guiseley AFC in the next round. A win in that game would have seen us put the memories of previous cup games there to bed and also earned the club a much needed £25K too.

That has to be put behind us now though and we have to re-find the form that has taken us to second place in the table.

Fraser Horsfall was missing from the Stourbridge game with a slight knock so we can only hope that his injury was ‘slight’ and he’s now fully recovered and fit for the trip up to Bradford tomorrow. The same fate befell Dan Bradley during the game but there has been no word on his situation from the club, at the time of writing. Dan is more replaceable than Fraser so there should be no real problem if he misses out but the loss of Fraser in a defensively weak set up would be more worrying.

We’ll also be without Ryan Johnson for the game due to him being on international duty with the Northern Ireland U21 side again. He had a nightmare of a game last week so might be glad he’s missing this one although it does leave us even weaker at the back.

Third placed Bradford also went out of the FA Cup last Saturday at Altrincham losing 4-2 after going into the break all square at 2-2. Their two goals came from Jake Beesley and Shane Killock. They have a couple of possible injuries with Luca Havern and Chris Dawson both picking up knocks at Altrincham.

With Bradford breathing down our necks in the league we’re going to have to perform better if we want to stop them leap frogging us in the table. We also still have memories of the play off defeat at Aggborough last May and don’t want them winning this one too. I’d be happy with a share of the spoils but three points is far more preferable to be honest.
