05-04-19 - Preview - Kidderminster Harriers Vs Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC

Now we’re into April the end of the season slowly comes into sight and it’ll be good to see the end of it. Play-offs or not.

Tomorrow we face the last of our tough run of five games against play-off hopefuls when Bradford PA come to Aggborough hoping to inflict the same kind of defeat on us that saw the highly fancied Harriers resigned to playing yet another season at this mediocre level. So far the results from this run of games against the hopefuls has been nothing short of disastrous with just the one win in the four games so far; at home to Spennymoor Town.

Once this game is over we have four more games to get anything from the season but at least they’re all against below the middle of the table teams and so, on paper, should be worth twelve points for us. Says he!

Fifth placed Bradford look to be nailed on for the top seven and come to us having lost just twice in their last ten games. At home to AFC Telford Utd two weeks ago and away to Brackley Town at the end of January. They’ve also drawn four games in that time. In that same period we’ve lost five games and drawn once.

We should be almost at full strength for tomorrows game with Sam Austin doubtful following his injury at Brackley two weeks ago while one of our two forgotten men, Liam Truslove, will no doubt still be injured with his unknown injury. The other forgotten man is Josh Heaton who seems to have got himself a berth with the U23 squad. I’m surprised he still wants to stay with us until the end.

Last week at Altrincham we finally showed a little bit of an improvement from recent games but we still lost 2-1 after dominating the second half of the game. We might have actually won the game if our strikers had put their shooting boots on. Strangely most of the chances we had were down to two of the substitutes that came on in the latter stages of the game and not the regular starters.

Hopefully that has been worked on during the week and we can go into the game tomorrow hopeful of a hatful of goals and three points into the bargain.
