Richard Lane clears second hurdle to buy Aggborough off WFDC By Harry Taylor Wyre Forest’s top table of councillors have approved the potential sale of Aggborough Stadium to Kidderminster Harriers owner Richard Lane, with redevelopment of the ground on the cards. All six councillors in Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet, including its leader Marcus Hart (Con, Wyre Forest Rural) backed the move which could see the council sell its freehold to Harriers owner Mr Lane. Speaking at the meeting at Finepoint Way, Cllr Hart sought to calm the fears of fans over protections on the ground. Richard Lane clears first hurdle to buy Aggborough off WFDC By Harry Taylor Kidderminster Harriers’ owner Richard Lane’s bid to buy Aggborough Stadium has moved a step closer after the move was backed by councillors, although the club came in for sharp criticism for a lack of communication. Lane will buy the lease off the council, which was understood to be running out in the coming decades. All but one of Wyre Forest District Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee voted in favour of the council selling Aggborough Stadium, the Stadium Close Car Park, and the Sports and Social Club at the ground.
