Barry Horne signed for Kidderminster Harriers on a free transfer in July 2000 with the aim of leading us in our first season in the Football League. He was the scorer of our second goal in the league when we played Torquay Utd on the opening day of the season. Stewart Hadley scored our first.

He was born in Bagillt, North Wales, and has captained and played 59 times for Wales.

His first club was Rhyl before being snapped up by Wrexham. In following seasons he played for Portsmouth, Southampton, Everton, Birmingham City, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday.

He won an FA Cup winners medal in 1995 with Everton.

He left the Harriers six months later and signed on a short contract with Walsall. When that contract ended he then went to play for Belper Town.
