Jack Lambert
Jack Lambert’s wanting out but hopefully he’ll see sense and stay with us

The Harriers will be getting their home season underway tomorrow with a visit from the first of this seasons newcomers to this league. That newbie is Radcliffe FC, a team that gained their place here following the lifting of the Northern Premier League title last season.

A potted history then: They’re better known as Radcliffe Borough but that name was dropped in 2018 following owner and boardroom changes in 2016. Radcliffe can be found in the Greater Manchester area but specifically between Bolton and Bury. They’re managed by the ‘duo’ known as ‘deadly’; Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley who are more well known as being the former management team of Salford City and later on with Chester FC and Ramsbottom Utd.

They got their season underway last Saturday with a 3-3 home draw to Scarborough Athletic. They came back from 2-0 down and again from 3-2 down to draw the game in the ninety second minute with Anthony Dudley, formerly of Salford and Chester but not Ramsbottom, saving their skins.

We got our season going with a good win at Darlington FC with goals from Amari Morgan-Smith and Maz Kouhyar to go into a comfortable lead. Darlo pulled a goal back late on with a well taken Will Hatfield free kick and we came back home to Kidderminster with our first three points of the season.

We have very little team news to hand apart from the Jack Lambert situation. It appears he wasn’t too enamoured with being told to play for the U23’s last Saturday rather than travelling to the North East and his former employers. Now the news has come out that he’s asked for a transfer and that has been granted, kind of, with Phil Brown having informed other clubs of his possible availability but Phil has also said that he would rather he stay with us a fight his way back into the side.

Now let’s put that bad news to one side and look for the good news. That’ll be coming at five o’clock tomorrow.
