15-03-24. Bromley FC Vs Kidderminster Harriers. Match preview

Preview: Phil Lench

Sam Robinson
Sam Robinson …
Will Sam get a chance to make his comeback from injury?

The team and their fans should be looking forwards to this game against Bromley FC because we all know that the Harriers play better, and win, against the better sides in this league than we do against those struggling down at the bottom with us. Oldham Athletic and Solihull Moors have both been beaten away from home in recent weeks while we’ve struggled against Woking, AFC Fylde and York City in that same period.

On Tuesday evening we entertained Fylde an managed a draw after going down to yet another sucker punch in allowing them to take a first half lead after our defenders fell asleep to allow three Fylde strikers to get in behind them and score. The previous sucker punch was at Woking when Christian Dibble let an easy ball collection slip through his legs.

It was different in the two wins mentioned earlier when we took the game to both teams with a high press forcing them onto the back foot and giving our strikers free reign in front of goal. We need that high press back into our game and with Bromleys team being of a better standard than Woking, Fylde and York then we could be allowed to play our passing game once more.

Apart from Shane Byrne we have no new injuries from the other evening and we could get to see the returns of Sam Robinson and Matt Preston too. Sam was on the bench on Tuesday and all being well could play his part in some stage in the game. Two who won’t be available are our loanees from Bromley: Cole Kpekawa and Todd Miller. They are not being allowed to play against their parent club so we’ll have at least one change in defence with Cole having slotted in there for the past three games.

It’s going to be tough tomorrow but, given our record against promotion chasing teams, we do stand to have a chance of a win. If not will a draw be enough?
