Date: 08-11-21 Harriers to meet FC Halifax Town in the next round of the FA Cup |
The Harriers reward for beating Grimsby Town in the FA Cup first round on Saturday is a home tie to another National Premier side, FC Halifax Town.
Halifax ran out 7-4 winners against Maidenhead Utd in their cup game on Saturday but that shouldn’t worry us too much having a long history of playing the Yorkshire side. They are doing well in the league though sitting in fifth place at this time and just three points behind leaders Boreham Wood.
An Ashley Hemmings penalty took us through to this stage on Saturday against Grimsby in a game that had everything. Another game that had everything was back in April 2008 when our manager, Russ Penn, scored four times in a 6-1 win for us up at the Shay . We last played them in April 2017 at Aggborough but that time we ended up on the losing side with Joe Ironside getting our only goal.
It will be good to renew acquaintances with Halifax just as long as we win. The game will be played on December 4th.
