02-10-17 - Harriers sign quality defender

The Harriers went back into the available player market again today when they signed the 32 year old former Walsall defender James O’Connor on a long three year contract until the end of the 2019-20 season. James had been training with us for quite a while now since leaving Walsall in the summer much to the annoyance of their fans.

In his time with the Saddlers he racked up over 125 appearances in a three year spell and scored three times. Before them he was with Derby County and Bristol but it was with Doncaster Rovers that he had his biggest portion of games with over 200 appearances for them before heading for Pride Park in August 2012.

The Birmingham born man started his career with Aston Villa in 2004 but never played a game for them.
