Brown will have them well up for it and they will be anyway given our FT status etc etc
Can see us getting turned over 1-0.

if you couple goals with clean sheets you've a recipe for success

Murray’s strategy is to ignore the Phil Brown factor. I’m not sure about this - I think the game will mean a lot to PB, as well as some of our players due to the emotional upheaval from last season. It’s still recent and raw, for the fans too.
Personally, I would address it head on as it’s hard to deny it being a key issue on Saturday.
PB aside this is likely to be a tough away game, but exactly the sort of scenario where we need to come away with three points if we have serious promotion aspirations.
I’m still in two minds whether to go or not.

I'm not sure how much the sentimental element of this really bothers players, I tend to think it's far more relevant for fans. Obviously the few players who were involved in our promotion near miss will bear some mental scars from it, but I can't believe playing against the previous manager's new team really factors does it?
As for PB really wanting it, he might, but do his players really care any more than usual because he used to manage us? Doubt it personally.

It will certainly matter if we lose, both to the players and the fans. As pointed out above, it brings a spotlight to the near success of last season and where we are going this season. An obvious comparison will be made with the old manager and the new.Mayo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 2:05 pm I'm not sure how much the sentimental element of this really bothers players, I tend to think it's far more relevant for fans. These sporting back stories are always interesting, to me anyway.
My expectation though is that we win

I seen xander training the gym on his own today not in the training gear? Dno if that means anything or his leaving, normally injured players normally train in there kiddy gear, not heard his injured either?
