I was at Ludlow races yesterday and someone came up to me and shook my hand was very pleasant and seemed to know me. I hadnt a clue who it was which is a bit embarrassing. I'm a bit 'face blind' so have trouble recognising people sometimes.
I then realised it must have been someone connected to Harriers (I was wearing a Harriers beeny hat) as I saw him with Helen Macdonald, who I did recognise. This guy had all the race-goer gear on, flat cap, tweed etc.
Any suggestions?

No, he was around 5'8" with a northern accent. Late 50's early 60's but clean shaven. Neil Mac maybe? Where's he from?

Looks very much like him actually. Maybe its me, but his accent was more northwest than northeast.
Oh well, he was pleased to see me anyway. Nice bloke.

He lives in Preston so might have picked up the local accent.

When I've spoken to him it's been a Geordie accent, admittedly a softer variety. Great bloke.
