The Harriers begin their festive campaign with an away trip to Hereford FC on Boxing Day. In turn Hereford will be coming to Aggborough on the day following New Years Day, the 2nd.<\/p>\n

With this ever changing situation there won’t be any Harriers fans allowed to travel to Edgar St and likewise for the return game. Hereford was in Tier 1 a week ago but that has now been raised to Tier 2 although that won’t make any difference to the game being played. It will still be home fans only.<\/p>\n

At the moment Hereford sit down in a lowly-ish sixteenth place in the league rankings but they have only played nine games compared to our eleven. Those nine games read out as three for all departments: won, drew and lost. The good stat is that in five home games they’ve only won the one game, against AFC Fylde so all’s well there then.<\/p>\n

Last Saturday, and during the week, they were in FA Trophy action. On the Tuesday they beat St Neots Town 3-0 at Edgar St while last Saturday they just about got through at Nantwich Town with by single goal. That result has now set them up with an away trip to the team that knocked us out (or did we knock ourselves out?) Stamford AFC. I hope they’ve watched the video to see how not to do it.<\/p>\n

For the game itself on Boxing Day they could be without two of their former Harriers. Kennedy Digie has a hamstring problem while Jared Hodgkiss was a late omission at Nantwich. The rest of their team could read like a Harriers who’s who. Brandon Hall in goal, Jamie Grimes in defence along with Yan Klukowski, James McQuilkin controlling midfield while Sami Nabir might be on the bench if he’s not turning out for Worcester City on his dual registration. Then if you add in the management duo of Josh Gowling<\/a> and Steve Burr you’ll have a total of nine former Reds.<\/p>\n

Thankfully we aren’t lumbered with any former Bulls.<\/p>\n

Hopefully we haven’t got any injuries in the camp with all now fully recovered from any niggles. Just have to hope no one’s put their back out pulling crackers or imbibed of too many mince pies and ginger beer.<\/p>\n

It would be good to get a long overdue win at Hereford. Something that we haven’t achieved since Jamille Matt gave us a narrow 1-0 win on Boxing Day 2012. We drew there on the first day of 2014 with a goal scored by their manager but since then nothing but dodgy refereeing decisions. No doubt that will be the decider again this time around.<\/p>\n
