Rhys Williams is a tall centre-half with Premier side Liverpool.

Preston born Rhys made his U18s debut in 2016-17 while just a schoolboy and then into the Liverpool academy. He stepped up to the U23 level in 2018-19 and made his first start at that level against Villarreal on November 21st.

On February 26th 2019 the young defender signed his first professional contract with the club and also made his international debut for the England U18s soon after.

Rhys was also part of the victorious FA Youth Cup squad after the dramatic penalty shootout victory over Manchester City in the final.

He came to Aggborough on loan until January after impressing in a short trial in July pre-season but did enough for Liverpool to allow him to stay until the end of the season. Rhys’ time with us showed us what an outstanding player he is and he’ll go far in the game.

Rhys made his debut for Liverpool on September 24th 2020 in a 7-2 away win in the EFL Cup at Lincoln City. He played the full ninety minutes with the first forty five minutes alongside Virgil Van Dyke and then in the second half alongside Fabinho.
