Match preview Vs Chester FCVenue: AggboroughDate: 06-10-20Kick off: 19:45hrs |
The Harriers kick off their league season at Aggborough tomorrow evening with an opening game against Chester FC and they’ll be hoping, along with the fans, for a far far better result than at Alvechurch on Saturday when we crashed out of the FA Cup to the part timers.
Normally the game would have gone to a replay with it standing at 2-2 in the ninetieth minute but due to the restrictions in place we opted for it to be decided on penalties. Well that went down well didn’t it?
I can make an excuse for new boy and youngster Keziah Martin fluffing his but not the veteran Amari Morgan-Smith who fluffed his penalty kick into the top of the stand behind the goal.
So now we have to save face with at least a draw against Chester tomorrow.
We only seem to have injuries, and long term ones at that, to Cliff Moyo and Jim Kellermann but on Saturday Luke Maxwell was added to the list. It may be too early for them to make an appearance.
Chester won their Cup tie in a similar style to the way we didn’t by drawing 2-2 at Worksop Town but then actually putting their penalties away. They’ll play Spennymoor Town in the next round while we won’t be playing Ilkeston Town away on October 13th.
The state of Chesters injury list isn’t known but they will be coming to Aggborough with the former Harrier Declan Weeks in the squad. George Waring and Joel Taylor, also former Reds will also be coming.
This is going to be a tight game, he says, and if you want to watch it just follow the instructions on the official site here. Sadly I won’t be because I’ll be halfway up a mountain in the Lake District.
