Wes Morgan came to Aggborough on loan from his parent club, Nottingham Forest, in February 2003 and straight away won the faithful over with his solid displays in defence.

He scored one goal for us, in his final game at Cambridge, but was then recalled by the Forest manager, Paul Hart.

Once returned to the City Ground Wes made sure he became one of the first names on the team sheet and stayed in the first team at Forest for a further nine years finally leaving in January 2012 to join Leicester City for a fee thought to be around £1,000,000.

Two years later he helped City win promotion to the Premier League and within another two years to the title.

All Harriers fans are proud that Wes was the first ever ‘former’ Harrier to lead his side to the ultimate accolade. A Premier League winners medal with the Premier League champions and then in 2021 a FA Cup Winners medal too.

On that high note Wes finally hung up his boots on an illustrious career.
