Welsh born Wayne Evans joined the Harriers from Rochdale AFC during the close season of 2004-05 before the commencement of our first season back in the Conference. He was a big crowd favourite at Spotland and had been their PotY on occasion there. His long career started at little Welshpool Town before moving on to Walsall where he met up with our then manager, Stuart Watkiss. He has now teamed up with him again in our campaign to get back into the Football League at the first attempt. After playing up until November with us he decided to hang up his boots and move into coaching with Shrewsbury Town. Wayne sadly died at the early age of fifty one years in July 2023. |
