	Following a long and thorough search Stuart Watkiss was appointed as the Harriers new manager on November 30th 2004. Formerly with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crewe Alexandra, Hereford Utd and Walsall it was at Mansfield Town where he took his first steps in management. After an enforced early retirement due to a bad ankle injury he made his way through the clubs backroom staff until finally becoming their manager in 2001. He took them to promotion to the Second Division at the end of his first year but couldn’t maintain that and they were relegated back to the Third Division a year later. He was in charge of the Academy sides at Barnsley before he came here. After just one year in charge he was sacked on December 7th 2005. One game short of his half century. Results hadn’t been good and the possibility of relegation was strong.
