If you had watched the Harriers in the 1950’s and 60’s then you would have seen Stewart Logan play. If you had been watching the Harriers since then, then you may have seen Stewart watching from the terraces. The Harriers was in his blood. Born and bred on the old Sugar Beet factory site – now called Silverwoods – he joined the Harriers from school and went on to play over four hundred games for us as a defender. He was an ever present in the side during our years in the old Birmingham & District League and then into the West Midlands League when that was created in 1962. Stewart hung up his boots when we joined the Southern League North in 1972. He had a short spell with Worcester City for a while but that was it and he turned to playing cricket locally. Since then Stewart had been a regular fan of the Harriers and was often seen there cheering his old team on. Sadly, at the age of 85, Stewart passed away in January 2023. |
