Sam Smith signed for the Harriers on Christmas Eve 2012 primarily as defensive cover. The tall centre half was with local side Stourbridge for three seasons before asking to leave a few weeks before signing for us. He was formerly with Chasetown and played in their FA Cup win over Port Vale and then in the 3rd round defeat by Cardiff in 2007. On joining Stourbridge he played a major part in their FA Cup run against Walsall in 2009 then the following season in the epic Cup games home & away against Plymouth winning the replay 2-0 before finally going out to Stevenage in the 2nd round. Sam was hoping to break into the professional game with the Harriers side at some stage but he never did and failed to make a single appearance for us. |
