Paul Jones started his career at the Harriers on the 7th October 1986 against Kettering Town. He played in the 1991 FA Trophy for the Harriers at Wembley which they unfortunately lost 2-1 to Wycombe Wanderers.

He then moved to the Wolves for a fee of £60,000 in 1991. After five years spent mainly in the reserves he moved on to Stockport County for £60,000. He made 65 appearances for County before joining Premiership side Southampton for £900,000.

He played over 100 games for the Saints and has also played for his country, Wales, on many occasions.

During Gorden Strachans tenure at Southampton Paul found himself slowly becoming out of favour and eventually went to Liverpool on loan before finally rejoining Dave Jones at his old club Wolves in January 2004.
