Matt Lewis was one of Jan Molbys’ surprise signings after he signed him from the Coventry factory side, Marconi, from under the nose of then Coventry City manager Gorden Strachan. Matt was a tall, gangly youth, very much in the mould of the Harriers former striker Lee Hughes. He was signed on a three year contract in July 2001 and made his debut when he came on as sub against York City in October 2001 when the Reds won 4-1. Eventually he failed to make the grade with us after scoring just one goal in eleven games and was sent out on loan to Bath City. He was then transferred to Doc Martens side Hinckley Utd for a fee of £5,000. |
