Mark Clyde was another one to come in on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers while Jan Molby was the Harriers manager and immediately impressed with his cool displays at the back. So much so that Dave Jones, manager of Wolves at the time, recalled him to Molineux and he appeared regularly after that until he started to suffer from ankle and knee injuries in 2004.

He was continually out of the side and he missed all of the 2005-06 season but made three appearances at the start of the 06-07 season before getting injured again.

During the early part of 2004 Mark played three times for his country in World Cup qualifying games.

In February 2007 he announced his retirement from the game following a diagnosis of arthritis in his knee and took up a new vocation of landscape gardening.

In July 2009 he made his comeback into the game by signing for Worcester City following a spell of friendly games for them and played against the Harriers in a FA Trophy game at St Georges Lane in February 2010.

He later played for Bridgnorth Town in a player/manager capacity.
