Lee Ayres came through the ranks at Aggborough, starting in the youth team then the reserves. He signed a two year contract in May 2001 followed by a six month one in August 2003. After injuring his foot at Hull City in August 2001 he eventually made it as a regular first team player in the 2002-03 season. At the end of the contract extension he went to Tamworth on loan for a short period. He was finally released in November 2003 and joined Tamworth, Burton, Forest Green Rovers and Worcester City amongst other clubs. |
