Stoke-on-Trent born John Danby joined the Harriers in 2001 as an apprentice goalkeeper. Born 20th September 1983 John was formerly on West Bromwich Albions books. He was promoted to the Harriers first team when Brendan Murphy left to join Solihull Borough and his big chance came when Stuart Brock fell out of favour towards the end of the 2003-04 season. He made a surprise debut in the 2-0 win at Scunthorpe Utd in March of that season and went on to become the first choice keeper after that. He retained that honour until a string of errors gave his understudy, Daniel Lewis, his big chance and he never really regained his place in the team again eventually leaving the club at the end of the 2005-06 season to join then League 2 side Chester City. John ended his career with Welsh Premier League side Connahs Quay Nomads. |
