Gold Omotayo began his career in the youth team at FC Zürich as a goalkeeper but was converted to a striker between there and joining Brighton based club Whitehawk in December 2017. The Nigerian born Gold was soon picked up by then league club Bury FC but failed to make the grade with them or with Yeovil Town and FC Halifax Town who he lasted just five games with. He then joined Gloucester City in 2021 but after making just one appearance, and scoring, the season was abandoned through Covid 19 and he left the club never having officially played for them. He signed for Wrexham AFC because they were still allowed to play and scored three times in eleven games before rocking up at Kings Lynn Town where his career really took off with thirty two goals in eighty two games. On the back of his time there he was expected to go back into the Football League but the silver tongued AFC Fylde came along rattling their cheque book and he signed for them on a two year contract instead. With his time there at a premature end we seem to have now paid his contract off and he joined us in December 2023. |
