Dublin born Gerry McDonagh arrived at the Harriers from Eastleigh during the 2023-24 close season on a one year contract. The imposing striker started his career with Nottingham Forest but once he reached the U21 stage he began to be loaned out to other clubs such as Wrexham, Cambridge Utd and Tranmere Rovers. He was released by Forest to join the Barnsley U21’s and was then loaned out to Aldershot Town in December 2018 before returning to Aldershot permanently in January 2019, lasting just a few months with them. His next stop was Tamworth for a few months before he was snapped up on a free transfer by FC Halifax Town. Again his time there was brief and he was released once more to join Cove Rangers in Scotland. He then returned South of the border to Scunthorpe Utd where, after just five weeks he was released once more to play for Eastleigh. You know what’s coming next? He lasted just seven weeks before being released once more. After failing to impress with us he was sent out on loan to Alfreton Town in January 2024 and released at the end of that season.
