Craig Hinton previously played for Birmingham City and joined the Harriers in September 1998, originally playing at right back under the management of Graham Allner. When Jan Molby arrived in 1999 he converted him to centre half, which is the position he kept ever since. He won numerous Player of the Year awards during his time at Aggborough and, naturally, this attracted other clubs to his talents. Stockport County, Hartlepool and Nottm Forest were amongst those queuing up but he finally decided to join Bristol Rovers in June 2004 after failing to agree new contract terms with the club. At first he struggled to get in the Rovers side but eventually became a crowd favourite. He then fell out of favour again once they achieved promotion to League 1 and left the club in May 2009 after five years service with them to join Northampton Town. |
