Chris Beardsley first signed for the Harriers after having previously worked with Stuart Watkiss at Mansfield Town. The fiery forward had signed for Doncaster Rovers at the start of the 2004-05 season but failed to make the first team even though he was scoring for fun in the reserves. He came to us with the intention of signing an extended contract but then left at the end of his first season to re-join Mansfield for a small fee. Four years, and four clubs, later he was back with us but again for only a short while. This time on loan from Kettering. Chris later went on to play for Stevenage, Preston North End and Bristol Rovers in the league and is now a fitness coach with Burton Albion. |
