The signing of the England C goalkeeper Adam Bartlett, from Blyth Spartans, was seen as something of a major coup by fans of non league football and also the fans of Kidderminster Harriers.

Signing for us during the close season of 2008 he was a more than adequate replacement for the previous keeper Scott Bevan.

The Newcastle born lad was a good friend of fellow Geordie Andy Ferrell and it was partly down to him that he decided to sign for us rather than Oxford Utd or Torquay Utd.

During his three seasons at Blyth he made 117 appearances for the Blue Square North side and made his England C debut against Finland in Helsinki last May. While at Blyth he also had trials at Blackpool and Hartlepool Utd.

He signed for us for an initial one year contract but midway through the season was offered an extended contract that he refused to sign. He left the club in June the following year to join up with Hereford Utd.
