Abdou Sall was a very tall 6ft 3in centre back who originally signed for the club at the start of the 2001/02 season. He joined us from the French club Toulouse after starting his career with French 3rd Div side Montauban.

He made his debut for our 1st team in the 4-1 defeat of York City in October, scoring on his debut. He then scored a late goal against Swindon Town in a Cup game that had been delayed for over a hour then went to extra time with the game finishing a hour from midnight. This made him an instant hit with the fans and into the history books.

Sadly he started the 2002/3 season with a mystery injury that emerged soon after Jan Molby left the club. He went out on loan to Oxford Utd but left after a row with them and eventually left the Harriers in February 2003 after falling out with Ian Britton.

He then turned up at Nuneaton Borough but got himself sacked a few days later for a bad attitude problem. Things went quiet then and he was thought to be back home in France but then one day he turned up at Aggborough asking for his old job back.

Jan Molby obliged and he signed on non-contract terms as cover. Once Molby had left again Sall fell out of favour with the new Harriers boss, Stuart Watkiss. He played a handful of games but was again released at the end of the season and signed for Forest Green Rovers.
