29-10-18 - Preview - Leamington FC Vs Kidderminster Harriers

The Harriers travel the short distance into Warwickshire tomorrow evening to face up to Leamington FC in this National North league clash. With the Reds only managing to get one point at Guiseley on Saturday they’ll be wanting all three points there. They’ll also need to get their shooting boots on after only hitting the target twice out of twelve attempts at the weekend.

At least our defence had tightened up following recent criticism and they restricted Guiseley to scraps. Joel Taylor came back into the right back position displacing ‘square peg in a round hole’ Sam Austin. He did well and put some decent crosses in too although no one converted them.

Leamington have been struggling of late although an improved showing at the weekend earned them a point at home to Darlington after going two goals down and a man, Anthony Dwyer, sent off before half time. They rallied in the second period though and goals from Colby Bishop, on his return from an ACL injury, and Jack Edwards sealing the comeback twenty minutes from time.

Just recently they’ve lost their star striker Matt Stenson to Solihull Moors for a small fee and midfielder Joe Magunda has joined Tamworth on a dual registration deal in order for him to get more game time.

They have four former Harriers in their ranks. Joe Clarke, Ahmed Obeng are two while keeper Tony Breeden is laughingly remembered for his antics by the corner flag. The best of the four though is Callum Gittings who is still thought highly of at Aggborough.

We should again be injury free so we have no excuses in getting a positive result there. Hopefully Ed Williams, Ashley Chambers, Joe Ironside and Dan Bradley have remembered where they left their shooting boots.
