Today came the news that we were all fearing and that was the departure of Elton N’Gwatala to an, as yet, un-named League One team. It was obviously going to happen sooner or later following the departure of so many of the squad from last season a few weeks ago but Eltons was being delayed due to the operation on his shoulder.

During his time with us he became a firm favourite but in the latter part of last season he kept getting repeated shoulder dislocations hence the operation. It was due to that he missed out on the play-off games.

He came here first back in December 2015 tagging along behind Ousmane Fané who was here hoping to impress and get a contract. Elton trained with the team and was eventually taken on too once his international clearance had come through.

He scored ten times in fifty one games for us last season but it’s mainly his creativity that caught the eye rather than the goals. Luckily for Elton he was also chosen to be the Harriers Online sponsored player and overall it’s been a pleasure to know him. Good luck Elton wherever you may go.

Incoming is Cieron Keane, formerly of Worcester City. The goal scoring full back is seen as the replacement for Zaine Francis-Angol and he’ll have some big shoes to fill. His career started with Notts County from where he joined up with Nuneaton Town before joining City last season and was one of the bright lights in their relegation campaign.

During his season with the doomed City he scored nine times in just over forty outings for them.
