25-11-24. Kings Lynn Town Vs Kidderminster Harriers. Match preview

Storm Bert saw the cancellation of Saturdays game at Scarborough Athletic much to the annoyance of those fans that had travelled there long distance previous to the announcement and had booked hotels and suchlike. I didn’t do the trip this time but I did two years ago and then the Queen died and the game was called off. It seems to be a recurring occurrence where Scarborough v Harriers games are concerned. A new date for the game will be announced soon.

Now we do have a long distance trip to come and that’s at Kings Lynn Town tomorrow evening. Their game at home to Southport was played on Saturday with the Lynn running out winners thanks to a single goal from Jonny Margetts late on in the game and the result moved them up to sixth in the table while we dropped a place to third due to Chorley FC beating .

The enforced break should have given those players with minor knocks a little longer to recover but that won’t include Alex Penny and Luke Summerfield who both remain out as long term injured. It does mean though that Paul Downing, Reece Devine and Ben Beresford have had a few more days recovery time and at least two of those should be ok for tomorrow.

We should also have Maz Kouhyar and Maliq Cadogan back from their international commitments with Afghanistan and Guyana.

Our last meeting with Kings Lynn was a memorable one when we won there in the 2022-23 play-offs to meet up with Brackley Town in the final. Another memorable game that saw us promoted to the National League. Sadly it didn’t last and now we face KL Town once again.

We should have been coming up against Gold Omotayo, our former striker, tomorrow but he seems to have missed games in recent weeks. He could possibly be injured but I can’t seem to find any reference to that. Not that he’d score anyway 🙂

This will undoubtably be a tough game for us but I think we’ll have a lot more to our game that Lynn and we should come away with another positive result to make it nine league games unbeaten.
