24-08-18 - Preview - Curzon Ashton Vs Kidderminster Harriers

Got off the mark last week

Now that they are off the winning mark the Harriers will be hoping for another three points at Curzon Ashton tomorrow afternoon. Last Saturday we emphatically beat Darlington FC 5-2 to record our first win of the season after drawing our previous three games. That win took us up to eleventh place in the table and now we need to climb higher.

Again we’ll have to do it without Dan Bradley who will be sitting out the second game of his three match ban. He was effectively replaced by Ed Williams last week and, along with Declan Weeks, had a fine game but that’s not to say no others played well because it was a great team effort by all of them.

Ed scored his first goal of the season along with Joe Ironside (2) and Fraser Horsfall but the best was saved till last with Weeks’ delightful chip over the stranded Darlington keeper in the dying minutes of the game.

We should be at full strength for the game with possibly the only worry coming with Joel Taylor who was withdrawn as a precaution on Saturday after picking up a slight knock. He should be ok for tomorrow though.

Curzon have had an average start to the season beating Darlington 3-0 on the opening day of the season then losing to Chester FC and Hereford FC in the following two games. They got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win against Alfreton Town and then a creditable draw away at York City last weekend.

It would be nice to think that we could repeat our 6-1 win there from two seasons ago but I can’t really see that. 5-1 will do 🙂
