Preview:Phil Lench

In readiness for the game at Warrington Town tomorrow the Harriers have bolstered the ranks with the signing of free agent Tope Obadeyi. Tope spent time with us in pre-season and impressed most that saw him play and he gave us what was possibly the best goal of pre-season with a super strike from outside the area in the Newport County game.
This game will be the second Saturday in a row that we’ve come up against a team that we’ve never played before. Last week it was Radcliffe FC and that game saw one of the Reds best performances so far in a comprehensive 3-0 win. All goals coming in a five minute first half spell with one of the goals coming from Ashley Hemmings. He also scored the only goal against Brackley Town on Tuesday evening in a much tougher game that was won by that goal.
Amari Morgan-Smith missed that game due to the concussion he received against Radcliffe and he’ll still be facing tests before the Warrington game to see if he can play. The other player missing is Jack Lambert and this looks like a saga that’s going to run and run. He’s now in training with the club after having to play in U23 games to get his fitness level back up along with getting his weight down. Hopefully he’ll see sense and stay with the club.
So with two quick Bank Holiday games in succession – we play Oxford City on Monday – it would be good to win this and improve on our third place in the table going into the Monday game.
