22-06-18 - News - Captain Croasdale leaves for the Coast

With the news earlier today that the Harriers centre half Fraser Horsfall could be on his way to either Wolverhampton Wanderers or to Queens Park Rangers for a fee thought to be around £200,000 it came as something of a shock to be told later on in the day that another stalwart member of the team, Ryan Croasdale, was on his way to AFC Fylde.

This time though the fee was nothing like Horsfalls rumoured income but a paltry £50,000 that, knowing how Fylde operate, we may never see. He now follows three players from last season: Jordan Tunnicliffe, Zaine Francis-Angol and Josh Ezewele to the promised land of East Blackpool.

Ryan does have a valid reason for joining them due to his being from Lancaster. Having to travel down here and living in digs is not good for a young family man so his decision to join them does make a certain amount of sense.

Of course that doesn’t go down too well with Harriers fans with Fylde pipping us to the post in last seasons promotion race and also poaching our better players. It looks like they intend to continue with that policy sadly.

In his two seasons with us he has grown to become an assured midfielder and for that he was handed the captaincy role last season. He did ok in that job if a little quiet at times.

Ryan, of course, was the Harriers Online sponsored player last season and a good choice he was too but now it looks like we’ll have to find someone else.

Good luck Ryan. We may meet again one day soon.
